Fireman Sam’s Bonfire Night Top Safety Tips

The cold weather is slowly but surely approaching and before long the clocks will be going back! Halloween and Bonfire Night will be here before you know it and to be honest, I’m just as excited as my boys about it all!

I love Halloween and enjoy decorating the house, dressing the boys up and making our yearly pumpkin carvings (they’re a bit of a thing in our house!) The boys go nuts over the prospect of Trick or Treating (who wouldn’t when you get a bucket of sweets in return?) and once that is over we have Bonfire Night to look forward to. We are lucky to live in an area with lots of family friendly firework displays but of course fire safety is always a must.

Fireman Sam's Bonfire Night Top Safety Tips

Fireman Sam is launching a nationwide campaign to raise awareness of fire safety for children.

Known for protecting the citizens of the Welsh town of Pontypandy alongside his esteemed colleagues, he teaches valuable lessons on fire safety while reinforcing the importance of staying calm during an emergency.

Sam is sharing his top tips on how to stay safe at Halloween and how best to enjoy the festivities at bonfire night and fireworks displays safely.

Fireman Sam’s Top Tips

  • Light fireworks at arm’s length and NEVER go back to a lit firework.
  • Always keep children a safe distance from fireworks.
  • Keep well away from bonfires and ensure that children are supervised at all times. Pets are best kept indoors.
  • Always wear gloves when handling sparklers and hold at arm’s length. Once finished, put in a bucket of water.
  • Finally, ensure you attend a well-organised fireworks display!

Bringing these important tips to life, Fireman Sam and his team also feature in some animated videos that will ensure all members of the family are aware of the potential fire hazards around these special events.
