Slimming World #6 and #7

Slimming World weeks 6 and 7

The last couple of weeks have been really busy so I am two weeks behind on a SW update! I am going to begin by saying that it has been rather up and down over the last couple of weeks. I have been relatively good during the week but the friday before last hubby and I had a sneaky Chinese takeaway!! It was soooooooooo good. We then had a busy weekend as we went to stay with friends and went to the Chilli Fiesta in West Dean, Chichester so the weekend pretty much consisted of BBQ food and Pimms. We had a great time and there was even a mini-heatwave.

How did I do?
So after last weekend being “off plan” I wasn’t surprised to see the scale go up when I stepped on them.

+1lb

Last week, again I was very good during the week but this weekend we had planned to go to Warwick Castle on friday but had to cancel as the weather forecast was rather dismal (gotta the great british weather!) so instead we took the boys bowling (I very nearly beat hubby might I add!) and soft play with some of E’s school friends, followed by a late lunch at Ask in Guildford (they have a fab children’s menu – if you’ve not been I would definitely recommend)

Yesterday we had arranged to meet up with Mrh H’s nan (the boy’s great nanny) who lives in Hove so we took the opportunity to visit Sealife Brighton and the beach beforehand.

I dreaded stepping on those scales yesterday to see the damage but was surprised

-1lb

Total loss to date: -11lb
I managed to lose the pound that I had put on the week before. So, whilst my weight hasn’t really shifted much over the last couple of weeks I’m grateful that I haven’t put on anymore. I need to focus on this coming week.

How am I feeling?
I have to say that even with going “off plan” over the last couple of weeks I have definitely been more conscious of my food choices and have tried to choose things that are the healthier option.

Focusing on the positives:
I have noticed that my clothes are fitting me much better and I’m not struggling to do my jeans up like I was previously. Hubby has also lost around half a stone, although I think he may have lost more but he didn’t weigh himself at the start so it’s hard to tell.

I am really determined to hit the 1 stone loss (3lb to go!) and continue to lose the next stone after that. It’s fast becoming the norm for me to eat the SW way now. I have swapped crisps for the occasional popcorn snack. I am eating much more fruit and veg. I have also noticed that my skin is healthier and seems clearer too.

The first photo was taken when I did the 5k Race for Life back at the end of June just before I started Slimming World and the one on the right was taken last weekend. I’m surprised how the shape of my face has changed actually – this definitely gives me the motivation to want to continue.

I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s ok to indulge every now and again – just as long as it is only every now and then and I don’t slip back into my old habits.

Meal plan for next week
As I’ve been doing this for nearly 2 months now the routine of my breakfast and lunch consists of the same types of food. Namely either cereal or toast with beans or poached eggs for breakfast or a salad for lunch so I’ll just list dinners from now on.

Monday

Paprika pork with rice and broccoli

Tuesday

Cottage pie

Wednesday

Coq au Vin with mash

Thursday

Chicken Arrabiata

Friday

Jacket potato with tuna and salad

Here’s to a good week!
