Easter things to do in Surrey

Is Spring around the corner? I have to say, I am seeing signs of it being on the way – we seem to be getting a bit more daylight for one. In any case… Easter is approaching quickly, which means you’ll need to plan activities to keep the kids occupied over the Easter holidays. I’ve compiled a list of Easter things to do in Surrey.

Duck Detectives, The London Wetlands Centre

1-16 April

See if you can uncover the clues to find the bright yellow ducks hiding throughout the Wetlands Centre using your exceptional detective skills.

Easter Lindt Gold Bunny Hunt, Hampton Court Palace

1-16 April
Discover the stories of the people who resided, worked and visited at Hampton Court Palace by tracking down the Lindt Gold Bunny.

Create & Grow Easter Holidays at Squire’s Garden Centre

3-14 April
Head to participating Squire’s Garden Centres for some Easter activities. Plant a colourful Easter Basket and join the bunny hunt and be rewarded with a chocolate treat. All Create & Grow activities are from 9.30-2pm, weekdays only and excludes bank holidays.

Easter Extravaganza, Bocketts Farm

1-16 April
This is one of our favourite places to visit. It’s lambing season over Easter so you get to meet and cuddle lots of baby lambs (over 500 newborn lambs are due to be born). We were lucky enough to see one being born on our last visit. There are baby chicks and ducklings to meet in the Small Animal Encounters sessions as well as an Easter Trail, live shows and a Craft Corner too.

Easter at Godstone Farm

1 – 16th April
Bundles of fun to be had at Godstone Farm this Easter. There’s an Easter Grotto where younger kids can meet the Easter Bunny and his friends (upgrade your ticket for this experience) as well as guinea pig feeding, Hog-stacle piglet racing and more.

All ages of explorers are invited to search the garden for the enormous eggs decorated with works of art created by neighbourhood families and schools. There’s also family fun activities, including storytelling, arts and crafts workshops and more.

This is likely to be a “hair-raising” production that you won’t want to miss, with an exciting opportunity to meet the characters after the play!

Egg Hunts and Trails at National Trust properties

We’re fortunate to be near a number of National Trust properties in Surrey. If you are regularly visiting National Trust places then it’s worth considering becoming a member. A Family Membership costs £133.80 a year or £11.15 a month.

This Easter, many of them are running Easter trails and activities where you are rewarded with a chocolate egg for your efforts.

Hampton Court Funfair

Who doesn’t love a good fun fair over the bank holiday weekend? The fair will be jam-packed with family-friendly attractions, traditional games and booths, a magnificent Carousel and even a Ferris Wheel.

Easter Family Fun Day, Kempton Park

10 April
Spend the day with your family at Kempton Park this Easter Monday. Along with the racing, there will be lots of FREE entertainment and activities such as face painters, bouncy castles, soft play, pony rides and rock climbing.

Railways & Steam

Thames Ditton Miniature Steam Railway

9-10 April
This is a great afternoon out for the whole family. Ride on lots of different miniature trains that are made to scale in great detail. You can even take a picnic and take advantage of watching the trains chugging along whilst you eat!

Easter Egg Hunt, Hampton Kempton Waterworks Railway

9 April
Find the eggs hidden around the railway and win a free chocolate egg. Steam train rides and play area with the ‘Kempton Flyer play train, where kids can pretend to be a train driver! You can also have a short woodland stroll and see our bug hotel. Free parking and drinks and snacks available.
