Having barely recovered from last weekend, we had another busy one this week.
The boys have both moved up to the next level of swimming this week which is fantastic. It does mean we’ve moved our Thursday swimming session to Friday now. Meaning there’s no rushing around after school on Thursday which is great but it does also result in us not being to just get home from school and flop on the sofa on Friday. Swings and roundabouts I suppose.
M had a school trip to Painshill Park on Friday and I volunteered to help out. It was such lovely sunny day for it but both of us were a little worse for wear at the end of the day suffering from hayfever and tired legs! It was really interesting spending the day with his class and seeing how they all interact with each other and the teacher and TA’s.
Saturday was a birthday celebration number two as we were celebrating E’s birthday with a day out to Chessington. I’ll be writing a separate post on our day out so keep an eye out for it.
We decided after his party last year that this year we’d do things a little differently and to have a day out rather than host a party. He invited two of his friends (their mums came along too) to spend the day at the park and I think it was a very successful day out.
We didn’t have to queue for more than half an hour for the rides they wanted to go on and the adults managed to watch a bit of the Royal Wedding whilst we were queuing too. It’s been a couple of years since we’ve been to Chessington and this time around M could join in on some of the bigger rides which he was very pleased about.
The day ended with drinks and dinner in a local pub where E opened his presents from his friends. I think he pretty much had the perfect day!
I’m sharing weekly photos of the boys to celebrate their childhood and linking up to the Living Arrows linky
You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth
