The Kids Do – making scheduling after school activities easy for busy parents

Ahh Summer holidays have been very much about not having to rush around washing and ironing uniform and getting the kids out of the door on the daily school run. I think (to begin with anyway) that most of us breathe a huge sigh of relief when the holidays start and simply embrace the fact there is no set routine to stick to.

However, we are edging ever closer to the new school year. Uniform needs to be bought and labelled, feet need to be measured for shoes but have you even started thinking about booking after school activities yet?

The Kids Do

If the thought of that fills you with dread because you have a million and one things to do and just don’t seem to have the time to research which clubs and activities are available then The Kids Do could be the answer to your problems.

As a busy working mum myself, no matter how hard I try to get organised there is always something I will have forgotten to do. After school activities are certainly never anywhere near the top of my to-do list and by the time I have started to think about them, most will have already been booked up for the term because inevitably I wasn’t organised enough.

The Kids Do aims to eliminate this hassle for busy parents. We won’t have to spend hours trawling through local clubs to find what would be suitable only to find there are no spaces left and we have to start the whole process of looking again. The Kids Do helps us reclaim our time. We simply fill out a form with our requirements and they go off and curate a bespoke schedule for us. It’s that simple!

My eldest who will be starting Year 2 come September there are only 2 days of the week where he could feasibly take on any after-school activities that I could get him to. The Kids Do put together a schedule for me for those two days based on his interests and I received it within a few days. I can really see this service being very useful for busy parents like myself and even more so when you have more than one school-aged child to cater for.

The Kids Do service is currently available in Kingston, New Malden, Surbiton, Worcester Park, Richmond and Twickenham with more areas being added soon.

  1. I don’t live in any of those areas, but it’s a good idea. My oldest boy starts school in Sept and I forgot until last week that I promised he could start Taekwondo…I’ve emailed about it and am hoping there is still space!

  2. im miles from these areas but yep, great idea…can they start in WSM in two years please hehe! #KCACOLS

  3. That sounds like a really handy service! My son has swimming lessons but that was his only after school activity last year. I think he might start wanting to try a few more things though this year, so I’ll have to get myself more organised! x #KCACOLS

  4. Sounds like a great service! We’re not at that stage yet – hopefully there will be something like this in our area when Piglet reaches school age #kcacols

  5. Great post! It’s important to get your kids involved in different after school activities but I understand managing their schedule can be tedious. Thanks for sharing these tips.
