With two growing boys in the house who are constantly hungry, I need to make sure they have a balanced diet that tick all the right food group boxes. I’m lucky that they aren’t overly fussy when it comes to food, they both have a hot lunch at school and then a snacky tea at the childminders.
By the time I pick them up at 5.30pm they are hungry again and want to have something to fill their tummies. We’re always short on time in the evenings as we need to fit in reading and homework so having snacks that have been prepped and ready in the fridge helps save a bit of time.
The boys were recently sent a personalised lunchbox and water bottle set from Petit Fernand, and they have been ideal for this purpose.
If you’ve not heard of Petit Fernand before, they are a French brand that specialises in personalised products that can be customised with different themes.
The boys enjoyed picking out their chosen designs from 34 themes and could pick a choice of colour and font for their names to be printed onto the lunchbox lid. E decided to go with a bright watermelon and pineapple theme while M went with a street scene. There’s a good variety to choose from; there were unicorns, dinosaurs and football to name just a few. We found the customising process on the Petit Fernand website easy to use, and we had our designs ready within a few clicks.
The lunch box is bento-style and comes with two removable containers. This is handy for popping in different snacks. We’ve had things like nuts, raisins, carrot and cucumber sticks in ours as well as sandwich thanks to its 1000ml capacity. It also comes with an ice pack to keep items cold and not only that, should you wish to store hot food in it, the boxes are microwavable too.
A matching customised stainless steel water bottle complements the lunch box and what I really liked about these is that they keep the liquid inside either hot or cold for up to 12 hours – perfect for my eldest who isn’t a fan of lukewarm water. They also come with an anti-leak cap to prevent any spills in bags. We’ve been using our bottles when we’re out and about to keep the boys hydrated, and we’ve had no more complaints about having to drink lukewarm water!
I’m really impressed with the quality of both the bento-style lunch box and the water bottle, and the boys are really pleased to see their customised designs in real life. We’ve been using them for a while now, and they wash up really well and look as good as new!
