Recently, we looked into getting a remortgage on our home to help us add not only a rear extension to our property but to add a loft extension too. It is a huge job and one that will take time and money to complete. Because of this, we considered moving as financially, this would work out the same.

But even if we stay as we are for a little while longer, we will be looking at making some small home improvements and updating the decor around our home. Sometimes, a change in decor can really help transform your home especially if you are unable to complete any major works like we have been contemplating.

Family homes withstand a lot on a day to day basis and it goes without saying that over time, the interior decor can become worn and tired. It has been a while since we have decorated at home. With a colour scheme of magnolia, browns, yellow and off-white, I feel that just doing some updating in regards to the decor could really help us transform our home in the meantime

As the boys grow older, it makes sense that their taste will change and grow with them and they too will want a completely new look in their room too. This can be a little bit tricky as they share and I know at some point we will have to change their room to a style that suits them both.

Redecorating My Home

One thing I prefer when looking for new items for my home is to be able to see what they look like. I love shopping online but nothing beats being able to walk into a store and look products before you buy. Especially if you are changing the look of your whole house.

I am thinking of hues of grey and whites with a hint of blue carrying the colour scheme throughout the house giving it a feel that pulls it all together and flows. It would be a nice change of colour I feel as well as making my home lighter and the illusion of more space too.

Department stores like Coopers of Stortford are great places for finding pretty much everything you need all in one place. Whether you need a few home furnishing or a planning a complete overhaul, department stores are great places to find what you need without having to visit many different stores.
