Summer holidays abroad are all about relaxing on the beach with your nose in a good book, aren’t they? At least, they were pre-children. Since having the boys, our holidays have centred around lots of day trips out visiting aquariums, museums, parks and all sorts that would keep these energetic boys of mine busy. It’s no surprise that we would end up returning and needing at least another few weeks to recover from a jam-packed holiday where we barely got a moment’s peace,
This year, however, was a little different. We were booked to go to Spain for the week and rather than filling our days with every activity under the sun, the plan was simply to relax (well at least try to) and spend days by the pool and the beach.
Fittingly, I was sent a holiday reading essentials package from eShores.co.uk which contained everything I needed encourage me to take some time out for myself.
The package included a book called “A Paris Apartment” by Michelle Gable which had been chosen by a fellow blogger, Catalina from stylishconfidence.com
“A fascinating time travel book. The narrative alternates between the 19th Century and today, and the action takes place in Paris.”
I have to say, I loved the sound of the book and had every intention of reading it whilst in sunny Spain. The reality was that when I did get the chance to sit back and watch the boys play in the pool or at the beach I simply wanted to relax, savour the moment and do nothing.
I do intend to pick this book up again once we are back into our regular routine and I can carve out some “me time”. Thank you to Catalina for the recommendation and to eShores for sending me the package. The reading light has already proven to be very useful!
