The boys: June 2015

Each month I will share photos and memories of “the boys” and what they got up to. I hope you enjoy reading.

June so far is proving to be a rather relaxed one, and with the weather finally warming up the boys have had some lovely afternoons outside in the garden. I finally purchased a water table (a steal from eBay) which I had been meaning to do since last summer.

The boys have literally had hours of fun with this and I love watching them play together in the sun. One of their new games is to take water from the water table into a cup and pour it down the slide before one of them slides down. This explains the wet bottoms when we ask them to come in!

We are lucky to have a long garden and the boys really get to put it to good use this time of year. This month has been the start of having ice lollies and ice creams outside after dinner – something that I encourage as I’d rather them make a mess outdoor than inside. They are allowed them on the trampoline but we have a strict “no bouncing” rule which E delightfully loves to test the waters with!

At the weekends the boys like to play in their room in the morning. It gives us an extra 15 minutes in bed which is great but they also like to have a snuggle together too. The photo below was taken by hubby last sunday morning. To me, it just captures their love for one another perfectly. They may fight over toys and have disagreements but at the end of the day, they have each other by their sides – whether its to cause chaos or to put the world to rights!

E has been out and and about on his new bike that we bought him for his birthday. His confidence isn’t quite there yet but I am hopeful he will master it by the end of the summer so we can remove the stabilisers. M now whizzes around on his scooter at ridiculous speed. That boy does not do anything slowly! It only seems like yesterday we were pulling him along the scooter and he was picking it up every time he needed to change direction as he had not mastered steering yet. My baby boy is slowly but surely growing up.

We visited his nursery twice to drop off forms for when he starts in September – I know he is ready to go and he seemed quite happy to go off and play but I know come September, it will be a completely different story. He loves routine and I am not sure how he will cope with this new change but more on that to come in another post.

It was also E’s first sports day last week it was really sweet watching them all attempt all the activities – the egg and spoon race was one of my highlights.

With the summer holidays just around the corner I am looking forward to alot more outdoor fun next month – stay tuned!
