What do I want for my birthday?

If you’re a regular reader of this blog then you will know that May is always a crazy busy month for us. Both mine and Mr H’s birthdays are in May, as well as E’s – totally bad planning on our part there.

May also means Eurovision and for the last few years now we’ve always had a little get together for it. So couple that with three birthdays, I think you begin to get the picture.

My birthday lands right at the end of May, so by then, I am all partied and birthdayed out. It is truly exhausting organising and hosting so when mine rolls around I just want to have a quiet one, spend time with my boys and maybe have a night off from cooking.

Gift wise, I’m rubbish with suggestions. Last year, as it was my 40th I got an Apple Watch but I’m not really sure what I’d like this year. Perhaps a new Apple watch strap would be a good idea, there are so many different styles to choose from I could have a few different ones for different occasions.

I do love my tech though so anything tech-related is usually a win. In the past, Mr H has bought me a DSLR, an Amazon Echo and games consoles.

One thing that will always go down well is chocolate. Everyone loves chocolate right? My favourites are usually truffles or praline but I’d love to try these cherry liquers from Thorntons as it combines my two favourite things.

Stationery is also a good call. My stationery obsession is nowhere near what it used to be but I can always use a nice notebook or pen!

As a busy mum running around after two boys, having some chill-out time to myself would also go down well. I would quite happily spend the day by myself relaxing in a hotel spa, reading, watching Netflix eating good food and just enjoying my own company. If a nights’ stay was also thrown in – well that would be even better!
